The Last of the WordCamp Events for 2017

Aside from the special December holidays we have the last – but not least – WordCamp events for 2017.

We would like to mention some of the events you might be interested in.

December 1-3, 2017 in Nashville, TN

The event will take place in The Renaissance Nashville Hotel, one of the Nashville’s premier hotels.

Here are some of the speakers who will capture the audience attention:

MORTEN RAND-HENDRIKSEN – Morten is a senior staff instructor at LinkedIn Learning and Lynda.com with 60+ courses published on WordPress, web standards, design and UX, and future technologies. He also teaches Interaction Design at Emily Carr University of Art and Design, and contributes to WordPress core and community projects.

MICHAEL HILL – Mike Hill is the Director of Web Development for Erickson Living. He manages a team that develops and manages the development and digital strategy for over 40 web properties for Erickson.

ANDREW NACIN – Andrew Nacin is a Lead Developer of WordPress. He’s led major releases, mentored contributors, and spearheaded new development. He has strong feelings about the core philosophies of WordPress, among them “decisions, not options” — software should be opinionated in lieu of burdening the user with too many options.

A point to mention is that the event will be LiveStreamed

The event will be followed by an afterparty at Adventure Science Center located at 800 Fort Negley Blvd.

WordCamp São Paulo – 2 December

WordCamp São Paulo is the largest conference dedicated to WordPress and the largest in Brazil so far. It is the 6th edition.The event will take place on December 2, 2017 at Impacta Tecnologia College. Between the main speakers, we would like to mention:

Emerson Gonçalves – Emerson Gonçalves, has worked as Web Developer for more than 15 years. Specialist in WordPress, brings in your resume the experience of the great companies and agencies of SP! Institutional sites, ecommerce, landing pages and hotsites, programming, optimization and performance, plugins, designer, back-end and front end, APIs, html, css and php, optimization and SEO

Tiago Hillebrandt – Tiago Hillebrandt serves as Head of DevOps at Rainmaker Digital Services. Collaborator of several free software projects, such as Ubuntu, WP-CLI, WordPress and others

Vinicius Lourenço – Vinícius Lourenço, web developer since 2009 and working with WordPress since 2011. Currently develops plugins and extensions, mainly for WooCommerce stores.

The organizers expect to receive 250 people in the auditorium of Impacta College, in Barra Funda. The audience is made up of developers, content producers, students and platform enthusiasts.

The event, like all WordPress Community work, is not for profit. All income earned through the sale of tickets and sponsorship will be revert to the production of the event.

WordCamp Athens ATHENS, GREECE, December 9–10, 2017

The event will be hosted at the Athens Concert Hall, located at the junction of Vasilissis Sofias Boulevard with Kokkalis Street. It will consist of  2 parallel speech sessions . The first will be held in the Skalkottas room, while the second one will be in MC2. Among the speakers will be:

Otto Kekäläinen – CEO of Seravo Oy and also works for the MariaDB Foundation. Otto has been using Linux and other open source technologies for over 15 years, and has been advocating open source for almost as long. Otto’s first blog in 2004 was made with WordPress, and since the inception of WP-palvelu.fi and Seravo.com Otto has been deeply involved with WordPress.

Rocío Valdivia – Rocío Valdivia is Community Wrangler at Automattic for WordCamp Central. Spanish web developer that loves WordPress, Open Source, technology, travelling and personal challenges.

Francesca Marano – Francesca is the WordPress Community Manager at SiteGround. She is part of the WordPress community team, organising Meetups and WordCamps in Torino and taking part in many other WordPress events worldwide. She founded C+B, a blog with an editorial staff of more than sixty authors offering daily advice for Italian female creative entrepreneurs.

WordCamp Athens 2017, organized by volunteers from the WordPress Greek Community . Sixteen members of the community shared the responsibilities and work on the implementation of the conference to make everything possible

WordCamp Rome ROME, ITALY

The event will be held at the Computer Engineering department – Roma Tre University, Via Vito Volterra 62The beloved WordPress and its community arrive in the capital of Italy for two days in the name of knowledge exchange and networking. Hundreds of people, passionate, curious, experts and professionals, will meet to discuss during an appointment considered fundamental for the sharing of knowledge and experiences on WordPress. Some of the speakers for the event are listed below:

Nemanja Aleksic – Product Marketing Manager at ManageWP & GoDaddy, WordCamp Belgrade organizer. On a quest to help the WordPress community charge an honest fee for their services.

Luca Sartoni – Luca contributes to the WordPress Community, Co-Organizes WordCamp Europe, works at Automattic, and has a great deal of fun traveling the world.

Federico Badaloni – In charge of the information architecture/User experience design and graphic design of the Digital Division of Gruppo GEDI (ex Gruppo Editoriale L’Espresso). Founded and coordinates the Master in Information Architecture and UX Design at IULM, Milano, teaches Social Media Strategy a the “Master di Comunicazione istituzionale delle amministrazioni, organizzazioni e imprese” at Luiss University in Rome and is the author of “Architettura della Comunicazione, progettare i nuovi ecosistemi dell’informazione”.

Two days hosted in two different locations, which will take turns in welcoming the participants.

The event is open to anyone who wants to be contaminated by that “together we go further”, the key value of every Open Source project, which guarantees passion, collaboration, inclusion and, above all, quality of results.
