WordCamp Calendar for August 2018

Hi there WordPress devotees,

If you would like to learn how other individuals are dealing with challenges like yours, you might be interested in attending a WordCamp event.

We all know that knowledge acquired through workshops is priceless. WordCamp events can definitely spike your creativity and productivity while taking you to another level.

It’s time to highlight some of the WordCamp events taking place in August 2018:

WordCamp Brighton BRIGHTON, UK:

August 17–19, 2018

The event will take place at the Clarendon Centre, just around the corner from the main train station in our beautiful seaside town.

Some of the main speakers for the event:

Sim Brody: Sim Brody is a Brighton-based freelance web designer and developer, who has designed and built innovative WordPress sites for clients of all shapes and sizes.

Roz Woodroffe: Roz is an enthusiastic project manager who has worked solely with WordPress builds for most of her career. In her position at bespoke WordPress development agency, 93 digital, she prescribes to the Rick Astley ‘Never gonna give you up’ school of project management and loves a good scoping document.

Kelly Molson: Kelly Molson is the Co-founder and Managing Director of Rubber Cheese, an award winning web design and development agency with studios in Hertfordshire and Cambridge.

WordCamp Brighton will be a safe and positive conference for everyone.. Organisers are creating legacy documents for others to use and learn from

Unlike other WordCamp events, the afterparty will take place in the middle of the schedule (in this case, the 18th of August).

WordCamp México City/ México MÉXICO CITY/ MÉXICO

August 24, 2018

The event is an unmissable opportunity to meet with the great community of WordPress, meeting guests from other communities around the world who will come together in a celebration of our passion for technology and sharing our experiences.

The WordCamp 2018 Mexico City will be held at the offices of WeWork Mexico in the Ural Mountains.

Some of the event organizers are:

Victor AGS: Entrepreneur, freelance Currently working for several companies creating and managing e-commerce with WooCommerce. Co-organizer of the CDMX meetups. Happy to belong to the WordPress community. Organizer of the WordCamp 2017 CDMX.

Pablo Herrada Artellano:Entrepreneur, International SEO Consultant  for ecommerce & Digital Marketing projects, and SEO Manager in projects of Walmart, Interjet, Steren, Sam’s Club and Superama, eBay and Linio. Founder of Gimoti , a company dedicated to Rewards Mobile Advertising and Cleanranks, a company dedicated to Marketing Analytics, SEO and much more .

Daffinc:Textile and interactive designer, with a diploma in Design and construction of websites. Passionate of WordPress, of the usability of the sites and the SEO.

The registration of attendees will take place around 1:30 pm and the closing will be at 8:30 pm . You will have coffee breaks, gift bags, lunch and and many more.

WordCamp Nijmegen NIJMEGEN, THE NETHERLANDS

August 30–September 1, 2018

WordCamp Nijmegen takes place every day in the Elinor Ostrom building of Radboud University Nijmegen

An interesting note about the location: The Elinor Ostrom building is the new building housing the Nijmegen School of Management. It is named after Elinor Ostroms. She was a political scientist and the first female winner of a Nobel Prize for Economics. She received the prize in 2009 together with Oliver E. Williamson.

The event will start on Thursday with a contributor day and then have two conference days. The conference will be a fair part of Dutch as its main goal to serve the WordPress community in Nijmegen.

If you live close by, you can contact the organizers as they are still accepting volunteers.

Some of the main speakers for this event:

Flip Keijzer: Flip is CEO of Savvii Managed WordPress Hosting, startup mentor for innovative companies. Member of the advisory board of the SIDN Fund. 20+ years of international commercial experience, started 5 businesses and loved working closely with the highly innovative medical startup community in Israel.

Jono Alderson: Jono is a digital strategist, marketing technologist and full-stack developer with over a decade of experience in SEO, analytics, brand and campaign strategy, lead gen and eCRM, CRO and more. He’s worked with startups, agencies and international brands to fix websites, implement growth strategies, and win markets.

Jono recently joined Yoast from Distilled, where he was principal consultant. Previously, he was global head of digital and head of insight at SEO platform Linkdex, and head of SEO at award-winning agency twentysix.

Rowdy Rabouw: Rowdy Rabouw is a web developer with over 20 years’ experience in HTML, CSS, JavaScript and PHP. He’s been working as a freelancer since 2004 and has been employed by the Dutch insurance company Nationale-Nederlanden since 1992. Currently he is the Lead Developer on various JavaScript and NativeScript projects and is a Progress Developer Expert for NativeScript.
