WordPress.org Announces First Ever Global Contributor Drive

forum-701280_1920

One of the main strong points of WordPress is its amazing community. The WordPress community is made of people from all over the world: beginners or experts, freelancers or companies, agencies, developers, designers, working together towards the future of WordPress, involved in helping it grow.

There are many benefits of contributing to the WordPress community:

-> you can build friendship relationships and even business relationships

-> no matter if you are a beginner or a pro, you bring something unique to the table and there will  always be room for learning more

-> you will not only be a part of an amazing community, but you will contribute to its improvement and growth

-> no matter how small the difference may be, you can make a difference, you can be a changemaker

Did you ever think about contributing to the WordPress community? If the answer is yes, good news! Between 30-31 January, 2016, you have the opportunity to get involved with the free, volunteer-run support forums at WordPress.org. It’s WordPress.org’s  first global contributor drive! The Contributor Weekend is focused on the Support Team: it’s about those who volunteer their time to help others with WordPress questions in the support forums and IRC.

This month’s challenge is called 20 Questions and its purpose is for you to answer 20 forum support requests over the course of the weekend.

WordPress users all over the world can participate, on their own, or with other people from local meetup groups and work together. In order to participate, you will first of all need an internet-connected device, a WordPress.org account and a WordPress.org Slack account. Here, you will find more details on how to participate and information on how the contributor drive is going to work: https://make.wordpress.org/support/20-questions/ .
Good luck!
