October 2016 Roundup| CaptainForm

Let’s see what went down last month.

Between attending WordCamp Belfast and WordCamp Bucharest, rewriting our form plugin and preparing a lot of wonderful surprises for our one year anniversary, October has been a full and fruitful month.

Keep reading for a run down of October news and happenings here at CaptainForm.

Attending WordCamp Belfast and WordCamp Bucharest

We started the month of October with WordCamp Belfast where many incredible memories were made. It was a weekend full of adventures for us, the attendance was great and all the speakers delivered great content. Our Product Owner, Alexandra Draghici, had the opportunity to speak about growing user retention.

Only one week after, we were headed to Bucharest for another weekend, jam-packed with other amazing speakers and sessions. Follow us on Facebook and be the first to get our latest news of events throughout the year. Head over to our page and check out Alexandra’s talk from WordCamp Bucharest on how to turn a SaaS into a WordPress Plugin.

Rewritten plugin

We have rewritten our form plugin for an overall better perfomance. The plugin now works faster, can be extended in a more durable way, and has been optimized for quicker and more extensive automatic testing.

Import submissions functionality

This new feature allows users to import data from CSV/XLS files into a form. For example, if users have already collected data through a different form or in a different way, they can easily add that data to the submissions of a CaptainForm web form. Once the CSV/XLS file is uploaded, users simply need to match the columns in the file with the form fields and that’s it!

Prefill embedded forms

The forms embedded in pages and posts can now be prefilled with custom values. Until recently, forms could be prefilled only when they were accessed at their direct URLs. Now, custom values can be used to prepopulate fields when forms are embedded in pages or posts as well.

That’s about it for October. Lots more to come this month so stick around(if you follow us on Facebook and Twitter you might have spotted a sneak peek).
